Perote was not a district, but a sub-office under Jalapa, which was sent stamps directly from Mexico to meet emergency needs.

Very few stamps are known to exist today.

Perote did not overprint their stamps.

On average, the stamps have normal margins for the issue.

Forgeries from Perote exist. A MEPSI certificate is recommended.
