Yguala is located in the state of Guerrero. It was the 57th largest postal district, based on the number of stamps used, and 57th by total value of all stamps used. The average cost of the stamps used was 1.93 reales. Yguala had about 6,500 inhabitants in 1861.

Yguala had no sub-offices.

None of the un real stamps are known to exist today. The 2R is known used.

It is believed by some that the 43 stamps not returned were recorded solely for the purpose of balancing the books.

The Yguala overprint is approximately 14 by 1¾ mm, without dots.

On average, the stamps have normal margins for the issue.

Forgeries from Yguala exist. A MEPSI certificate is recommended.
